DAVID WILLIAM TYLER is senior counsel in the litigation department at Starr Associates LLP. Mr. Tyler is a trusted counselor and advisor to clients ranging from private individuals to multi-national and domestic corporations, and government entities. As lead attorney on a broad array of commercial litigation matters and real estate disputes, Mr. Tyler combines business acumen with a strategic approach to serving and achieving the best results for his clients.
Mr. Tyler represents litigants in actions and proceedings before state and
federal courts nationwide. He has robust experience representing property owners and other stakeholders in all aspects of civil litigation as well as representing clients before state and federal government authorities. Mr. Tyler has also successfully defended global automotive manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, and other entities in highly regulated industries in class actions, multi district litigation and complex individual litigation matters, including product liability, consumer fraud, mass tort and multifaceted business litigation. Mr. Tyler collaborates closely with his clients’ engineering and management teams to develop and direct cost-effective solutions to successfully resolve disputes while protecting the designs, products, and brands at issue.
Drawing on his prior in-house experience and extensive litigation expertise,
Mr. Tyler brings a unique perspective that empowers him to counsel clients on
compliance, risk management, and litigation avoidance. Mr. Tyler has also
lectured and published on effective litigation practices, strategic use of expert
witnesses, and qui tam litigation, including matters brought under state and
federal False Claims Acts.
Bar Admissions: New York, New Jersey, U.S. District Court, Southern and
Eastern Districts of New York, and the District of New Jersey. Education:
CUNY Queens College (B.A. 1997); Fordham University School of Law (J.D.
2000). Mr. Tyler is an active volunteer in his community, having served on the
executive board and numerous committees of not-for-profit charitable
organizations and bar associations.
